You can give quick fresh look to any room with cushions. Whether it’s a sofa, an armchair or a bed, or for that matter just an empty space, you can enhance its grace with cushions. Read more to know how?
LIVING ROOM SPACE:
Uplift your sofa by mixing texture to add visual interest and create a sense of depth and contrast. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns or be bold with colors. let yours personality speak about you through colors!
Combining pattern is less tricky than you would imagine, providing the colors work well with each other & the patterns are quite different from each other. Use with some block colors to help create a sense of balance.
The trick is to co-ordinate colors that work well together. It’s essential to keep within a particular color palette or a family of colors. Select one overriding color for emphasis that will convey a mood and set the tone. It’s important to have an overarching palette so the eyes have somewhere to rest. You don’t want your space to look to busy or become visually confusing.
BEDROOM SPACE:
Make your bed more inviting with plush feather filled cushions in muted colors, soft, subtle patterns, silky tactile or richly texture accent pillows. Always start with the larger cushion at the back followed by the smaller one placed in front. A 40 x 40cm square cushion will work nicely with 60 x 60cm placed behind.
The number of cushions is of course personal preference, however a collection of 3 – 5 will prevent the bed from appearing over the top and looking cluttered. Odd numbers work best as they are visually stronger than groups of 2 or 4 and are more restful to the eyes. A bolster or lumbar cushion are a great option for 3rd or 5th cushion.
FLOOR CUSHION:
Floor cushions are trending again, and this time they’re not just for kids! Floor cushions, or floor pillows as some people may refer to them, are more than just over sized pillows on the floor with no purpose or use.
Floor cushions can be functional and handy decoration pieces for any indoor or outdoor living space.
